We arrived on Friday 9/25 for our friends 40th birthday weekend. there were 18 of us with 6 kids 5 younger than 6. The pool was great and the only five star part of our experience.

Friday night we had a reservation at the Primo restaurant. Our reservation was for 8pm. We were in the lobby bar waiting to be called in. About 815 we are brought into the restaurant lobby. We waited there about 15 minutes when the organizer of our group informed us that the restaurant sat someone at our reserved table and we would have to go back to the bar to wait for a room to clear. At 910pm we were finally seated. The service was second rate, definitely not what I expect from a JW Marriott. We ordered some apps and they came out about 30 minutes later. They again were just ok.

It is now 940pm and we have 5 kids with us. They did get the kids orders first so they had food quickly. I commend the restaurant on that. Dinner came and the food was just plain. My wife ordered the $50 steak medium. It came out burn and well done. By that time it was past 1015 and we were just over it. Hoping for some desert and coffee the next thing I see is the check being dropped. We were not even offered desert. I have had better meals and dining experiences for 1/3 the price. This was not a great start to our visit.

Saturday the 26th. As a group we spent the day at the pool. That was great. The lazy river is awesome and the kids loved it. We decided to have an informal dinner in the lobby bar. My wife and I got down about 730. Our group had been sitting there for about 30 minutes. Service again was the worst. We had to bus our own tables. I ordered 2 kids pizzas and the short rib dinner. It came out about 30 minutes later, which is not bad but our friends had ordered their food 30 minutes before we did and still did not get their order. The last of our group came down and was told that they are not taking orders right now as the kitchen is taking about an hour to prepare food. When we asked if we could order pizza from outside we were told 'no'. We would not be allowed to eat that here. This is unacceptable. If the restaurant cannot serve us food we should not be kept from ordering food from outside.

Overall this was a fun experience to have with my kids and friends. The food was terrible across the board for the prices that we were paying. I don't mind paying for overpriced items if the service and quality is there. It definitely was not on this trip.

I do have to point out some bright spots. The bartenders at the lobby bar and the outside pool bar were awesome! Edwin was the best and very professional about everything.

I doubt that anything will come of this but I needed to put my review out there. This was a poor representation of the Marriott culture I have come to look forward to.
