The WORST. I moved out of my apartment on August 1...

The WORST. I moved out of my apartment on August 16th. My apartment complex confirmed someone moved in on August 17th and began water service on the 18th. I received a surprise second bill of $56.00 (mind you this apartment has 1 bathroom). I called customer service, who was terribly rude and they called me a liar, when I made it very clear that I am moving out of this apartment on the 16th.

Update:
I received a second bill, in the amount of $96. After I had paid the $56 because I didn't want this going in collections and they were refusing to refund my money. I received a second bill of $96!!! I called and e-mailed several times. The told me to just pay the $96 and they would refund the money after pulling the calls. I received a call a week later stating that they are not refunding the $96 or $56 that I paid, despite having called to turn off service prior to moving, to avoid this going into collections. I was only in this apartment for 3 months and ended up paying 5 bills. This place needs to be shut down. Since we moved to Cameron, into a 4 bedroom 4 bathroom house, our water bill is actually less and we have not had any issues with our current company. I have reported this company to the BBB. I am glad to never have to deal with these people again.
