Nearly 2 decades ago in 1997 I visited the feline area of The Animal Foundation. While the rather unattractive trailer was decidedly unimpressive, the interior was clean, well-lighted, tidy, freshly painted, and it smelled GREAT! No unpleasant animal odors at all! Additionally, the staff (2 ladies) were friendly, courteous, most helpful and completely professional.
I adopted Tess, an American Shorthaired yellow tabby kitten that day. My lovely Tess was my companion for the next 18 years and 2 months.
In March of this year I returned to the Foundation and adopted a little 9-year old mixed-breed dog in their "Seniors for Seniors" program. I named her Abby. We are inseparable and I love her dearly!
This latest visit to the Animal Foundation was in sharp contrast to my visit nearly 20 years ago. The facility is enormous, but it is still clean, beautifully maintained, and virtually odor-free. The grounds are attractive and free of litter and animal waste . . . and the staff has grown by leaps and bounds in keeping with the exponential growth of our homeless animal population. Still, the Foundation workers are courteous and eager to assist visitors. They are still friendly while remaining professional.
For anyone looking for the "pet of their dreams", you really must consider pet adoption at The Animal Foundation!!!
And remember, the adoption fees also include veterinary care received by your new pet. The donation is the least we can do to ensure that the Foundation's important work can continue!
FIVE STARS - DEFINITELY ***** !
