Afternoon tea at the Waldorf Astoria Caledonian is...

Afternoon tea at the Waldorf Astoria Caledonian is in some ways a compromise. The Balmoral is the classic destination for this meal, and is slightly superior in the scones and in the range of teas available, as well as offering more of a special feel. The Signet Library has superior surroundings and Prestonfield House is the more adventurous in menu, as well as being slightly country house in feel.

The Caledonian is a good all-round balance, not a excellent in each area but enjoyable and convenient for the Lyceum or Usher Hall. It is very expensive, however, compared even to the Balmoral. They also skimp on jam and cream for the scones, and the service is slightly elusive.
