My family and I were there on Tuesday to watch the Penguins/ Sharks game. This is the third time we have made the trip to San Jose to watch the Penguins play. Every time we have had terrible experiences, but this was by far the worst.
Between the terrible staff (blue jackets), and the terrible fans, we decided that this will be the last year we make the trip. The rules in this building are absolutely ridiculous. No standing, no leaning forward in your seat, I'm assuming no cheering or booing either. Unless you are doing it for the home team. Why would you go to a professional sporting event to sit quietly in your seat? Typical bay area attitude. The blue jackets kept spouting off about hockey etiquette... I don't even know what that means. You spend good money to go to a game because you're passionate about it, not to sit quietly in a seat and golf clap after your team scores a goal.
I get why the local fans were so butt hurt, the Sharks lost 5-1 that night and didn't appreciate my group having such a good time in their house. This is probably why the Sharks choke in the playoffs every year. San Jose claims to be the best fans in the NHL, I hate to tell them but if they visited any real hockey city they would see that they are severely lacking in what makes a good hockey fan.
Keep it up San Jose and maybe your team will go to a city that deserves it.
