At 230 this morning I brought my son to the ER because of a severe toothache. It was so painful his blood pressure was extremely high and he complained of dizziness. By 430am we were still there and he was the only one waiting. I ve worked in ESRD for 21 years and know full well that he was being treated like someone looking for drugs. I had watched the ones being discharged that were there before and I asked the girl at the desk how much longer. I know they have to get the bed ready for the next pt but I also know it happens fairly quickly but her response was I don t know. All he wanted was antibiotics and possibly a shot for the pain. Nothing more. His blood pressure should have been first and foremost. I hear constantly about how people hate caramont but when I was there for breast cancer surgery I was treated very well. I had no complaints until now. I m very disappointed in this treatment. We ended up leaving because of this and I will take him to atrium urgent care for better service. I m rethinking my attitude towards this hospital that would not treat what could be a potentially harmful symptom first.
