I had a great experience. I had an appointment at 12:15 pm to renew my passport and at 12:30 pm I was out. Fast and efficient service. The two people I spoke to - reception and passport service (2 women) informed me with a smile. Concerning the language: with the first one we spoke only in Portuguese but with the lady from the passport service, just like me, she speaks both languages perfectly and correctly. A document was missing from my employer to keep my old passport until it was valid. The person did their best to help me and we adapted the language according to the topic. For the DHL service, for example, given the specific terms linked to this service, it was easier to express ourselves in French.
Personally, I admit that there is nothing more annoying than to hear Portuguese - I mean by that - people who were born and who studied in Portugal, and who .... we do not know why, insist on speaking in French with a terrible accent and the worst of the worst: this superior air, ... while they are at the Portuguese consulate or, see even in Portugal!
Very difficult to address such people pleasantly, let's be honest!
