I always get between 3 and 4 pounds if possible, it'll be as lean as can be in the flat cut. Very low price at Sam's club. Soak the corned beef for 24 hours if possible, changing water once, to get out the salty taste. Cook in a roasting pot on 275 deg with one cup of water for 4 to 5 hours. Make sure tin foil is air tight on the roaster. Comes out like the best delis in NY.
Love it for world class corned beef sandwiches. Any reviewers saying otherwise aren't doing it right.
