I went to Homewood with my family for "Homewood Days", a summer festival featuring free paddle board and Mtn. Bike demos, historical presentations, and family appropriate bluegrass music, I thought. :(. After a day in the sun, and an extremely poor turnout, we looked forward too an evening of relaxation and enjoyment at the concert portion of the event. What a disappointment. When I went to pick up our tickets to the show, I found out they were not going to let us leave the show for 6 hrs! Lock-up with our car 100' away. If we tried to go get our jackets or let the dog out of the camper for a few minutes, we would have to leave. Tahoe gets chilly in the evenings, & I also needed to go out to the car for a little while to ice my foot. (It still swells up and gets stiff & sore after being on it for several hours because of a broken leg I suffered 3 months ago). I complained the event promoter for the resort & he gave the canned, un-sincere apology, & refused to be reasonable. He even lied to me about the reason why they would treat their guests like middle school kids at the Fri. night dance. He said it was a public safety issue. Really!? This so-called family event had a safety issue?! The real reason was because they wanted to "Force Sell" food & liquor to their "guests", a phenomenon all too common in the Entertainment business. What a disappointment for my family. I even showed up with a pocket full of $20 bills, prepared to buy their over-priced food & drink...That is, until I found out there was going to be a greedy squid following me around with his hand in my back pocket. Never again. Not a dime. Shameful dis-trust of your guests. Not a dime!
