A historic and emersive experience founded by the Russian Imperial Ballet in the 1930's this restaurant and gift shop feels as though it transports you right into the heart of Moscow as you enter... The high tea is always a pleasure, but this time we joined them for dinner service. The Borsch was complex and rich, the onion soup hearty and savory, caviar flight on soft potato pancakes (they swapped the traditional buckwheat for my allergy preference, very nice of them) were perfectly finished. Tea service as always a true treat... my only complaint service was slow and off this night, I think they saw my daughter with us and questioned if we were meant to be there as it's not a kid friendly venue in the slightest. Oversight by the waiter was an expensive mistake as we typically order highly and tip kindly. Service was actually so slow we bailed after appetizers and ate our dinner and dessert elsewhere. If the management reads this I hope they speak with their wait staff about not judging a book by it's cover, this was not my first patronage to their establishment, but it very well may be the last time I bring my family to it.
