STAY AWAY OR PAY!
STAY AWAY OR PAY!
Absolute thieves in the service department. No other way to put it.
So I go in with TWO dead key remotes. I had already checked new batteries, contacts, etc. but the service guy checked them all again (ok, I can appreciate this part, but that's the end of the "service").
Now we get to "business". He wants me to sign a service agreement to look at my car but no estimate. I ask for an estimate before i sign, and he acts surprised. 'I guess I can go ask about the parts if you'd like.' (Yes, before I sign onto any agreement of sale, I'd like to know what I'm signing, thanks.)
So he comes back and starts scribbling. 2 key guts @ $40/ea. plus 1/2 hour labor, looking at around $135. This doesn't sit right for 2 keys (and just the internals, the keys themselves were fine) so I leave to do some google homework.
The parts price was bad but not terrible (best I saw was $28 online, so 40% premium), but like labor looked like a DIY effort, and many dealers don't look like they charge a thing!
So I return and skip the service department and go directly to parts. 2 Key FOBs @ $36/ea. (So service dept added another 10%+ right there!) Asked if I wanted them programmed and I said I didn't have time but may go to a dealer by my office.
Returned home and tried out what I read online. LITERALLY ONE MINUTE LATER, both keys were programmed. 4 key turns plus 5 button clicks for one key, just one button click for the other, and both keys were working.
So when presented with ONE MINUTE of labor, instead of doing it at no charge, they decide to charge $55 for 1/2 hour ($110/hr rate means they must have REALLY good mechanics here)! Unbelievable. Not to mention just randomly trying to overcharge on the parts.
These are not people working in your best interest. Stay away or pay. You've been warned.
