Just returned from a weekend stay at The Liberty. In short, I do not recommend it. It is in no way a luxury hotel. This would be fine if they didn't charge luxury prices and advertise themselves thus. I am totally fine with a budget motel experience but only if that's what I'm paying for and expecting. The service at The Liberty is non-existent. I don't think we had any interaction beyond the sullen man at reception who checked us in. Our room wasn't cleaned at all yesterday and when I called upon our return to ask that it be cleaned when we stepped out for dinner there was no apology. When we returned from dinner housekeeping had made the beds and provided fresh towels but that was all. They did not provide new bottles of water, did not remove our dirty glassware from the bar, and did not empty the waste bins. Certainly no nice touches like turndown service or newspapers. Since a $20 per night facility fee is being charged they should at a bare minimum provide ample amounts of water. We received a grand total of two during our stay and there were four of us staying in the room. We were also surprised by the hefty $55 per DAY valet fee. Pretty tacky. I will not return here and will not be surprised when they are downgraded by or removed from the Starwood program.
