When faced with the decision to place a loved one in a long term nursing facility it is never easy! When we first contacted Sheepshead Bay Nursing and Rehabilitation we were overwhelmed with what we had previously seen at other facilities. We had two days to make a decision on where to place our loved one. I called and they said come in! We visited with the administrators, they asked about the level of care needed they explained everything to us, they took us on a tour of every area of the facility, We were comfortable, they were sensitive to our needs, they went above and beyond to help us get our loved one placed. Once placed Sheepshead became family!! The administration, the staff care takers, nurses, aides, doctors were all very attentive and caring! They made what was a difficult decision and situation for us easy to deal with. One thing for certain is they all loved my father! They loved my mother and always expressed concern for her because she commuted 2 hours each day on public transportation to see my father. They loved our family!!! We love and appreciate everyone for the care they provided my father and the love they had for him. When we lost my father Sheepshead didn t just lose a patient this was seen by the expressions of love and the support they provided our family during a very difficult time.
