We are currently in the ER. We've been here for 7 hours. So far, we were told they are admitting my husband for a possible stroke. They've done a CT scan and blood work, but no ones told us the results. I asked to speak to the dr who spent all of three minutes with us. We've had three nurses, but I couldn't tell you their names just that the room white board still says Kelly from the day shift. When I asked how much longer for a room, I was told that they are "looking" for one. I've had to ask them to disconnect his IV because it was backing up with blood, told them his oxygen sats were too low and could they give him oxygen, asked for medication that was ordered but never administered. The last nurse came in and said that the dispenser for one of the drugs ordered is out. The other drug, heparin, is also on "order". When I asked if they did an INR to determine if he needs heparin (he takes warfarin and took his meds this morning), she said they "probably" would check it first!!! Seriously!!! They let a student practice putting in his IV. This is the worst hospital I've ever been in. Do not come here!! Tomorrow I will be calling my his doctor and ask to be transferred. It's ridiculous that I know more than the "professionals" here. Ok update. Dr finally came to see me...OOPS the dr who left should have talked to us before he left!!! My husbands INR is 1.5!!!! That's dangerously thick and would cause a stroke. They've known that since 8pm. So he should have had the meds THEN! We were told that heparin was ordered but OOPS they forgot to give it to him. Seriously?! Can you say malpractice? Do not come to this hospital.
