I don't want to make this about the cost, but it is about the cost. I actually give it 2 stars as the staff were highly attentive. Otherwise it would have only received 1 star. This is not authentic Chinese food, though the dim sum was good. However, to have a bill for 2 people come to $390 quid, which included 2 x dim sum starters,(good, but the har gow was overcooked, the shui mai was excellent as was the truffle dumpling,) soft shell crab (not very good, used old oil) wasabi prawns (why deep fry first? the sauce was very good and that would have been enough,) the bavette of beef, (so sweet, so Western such as shame as the sauce overpowered the lovely meat,) and stir fried bok choi (best dish we decided.) We had 1 bottle of wine, Chablis, one of their cheapest wines, at 139 quid, 3 cocktails and water. This was insane. The atmosphere is very charming, they spent a lot of money on the design, but the live music was intrusive and actually was not mentioned that we would have to pay an entertainment charge of 10 quid a head! This really annoyed me. They also tacked on a 15% service charge. I will never return, it wasn't worth the money. Go for a drink in the bar if you want to see the place, but please go to Tang's at the Dorchester for authentic Chinese food, or to the Royal China in Queensway. Unless you are an Arab Sheik on holiday and/or you think you want to be "seen", then don't waste your time and money. And honestly there was no one there to see you, the restaurant was half empty. Which honestly says it all....
