We went out for a hike near umbrella Falls. It is absolutely beautiful out there and the snow was pretty deep but we were able to hike around in our yak tracks. It took us longer to get back then we thought and it was dark by the time we were climbing up the hill to come back to the parking lot where we parked. When we were about 10 minutes from the parking lot we saw the lights out in the forest and heard voices. As it turned out, it was the public safety Officer named Eric who works for Mt. Hood Meadows and was out looking for us on the trail. He had walked all the way down the snowy hill into the forest looking for us because he saw our car parked there. What a great guy!
He was making sure we were safe and going above and beyond . His Colleague Marcos Was also there for back up and between the two of them they really went out of their way to make sure we were safe. Eric also had to walk up the steep bank of snow after hiking down to find us. I m sure he didn t have to go to all of this effort but Eric was out there looking for us. We thanked him at the end. What a great crew!
