We submitted a RFQ for a software program to be produced which included critical features to be created. They gave us a quote based upon these features. Each milestone beta version where we pointed out that they were missing some of the original features. Each time they tacked on tens of thousands of dollars to the costs.

We argued that theses critical features were in the original document that they quoted. Their excuse is that amongst the overwhelming amount of documents that they sent to us via (not kidding) google docs, dropbox, multiple email accounts and TEXT that one of these documents did not include the feature and I should have caught that.

We have paid their ransom multiple times but there came a point where there was no end in sight. Every corner, every feature they acted like it was NEW and out of scope although we referred back to the original submission and clearly it is there. We had no choice but to abandon the project and they are $52k richer and we have no software project.
