In previous years I've visited and had a great time. The art is, of course, exceptional. This last trip was less so. The line ups were ridiculous and the place was so crowded that you couldn't really see the pieces and when we visited the cafe there were so many people that many were sitting on the floor. I'm hoping that was a symptom of the holiday week and not just the way things are there now. Were there a crowd of that size the next time I tried to go I'd move on.

A tip, though, if you do want to go and it is crowded: pre-purchase your tickets or buy them through the web (even on your phone). You'll still have to line up for the coat check but you won't have to wait in line for tickets anyway which could save a ton of time.
