I have always enjoyed coming to the Science centre in Edmonton with the kids and disagree with the reviewer who said most of the displays are outdated or broken? The new Science Garage (replacing the forensic investigation exhibit) feature is great and the kids played on the climbing wall for about 20 minutes before I made them move on. I do think the body gallery with the senses and gallery of the gross etc needs to be changed up and updated but the displays still all work.
This is a great place to come see feature films in the IMAX theatre both old and new. Last summer we saw Back to the Future and this summer Guardians of the Galaxy 2. You get to choose the seats you want as it is reserved seating and it is a small theatre and laid out such that the people in front of you do not interfere with the view. Guardians was shown in 3D and it was a better quality than the 3D shown at our local theatre, not sure if due to the screen or the quality of the 3D glasses they use here.
They updated the cafeteria in the last year and there are more food choices now, from made to order burgers and Poutine and pre made sandwiches that are grab and go. If you have a membership here make sure you show it at the cafeteria to get a discount.
The gift shop is small but full of lots of interesting things for young to old. You also get a discount if you are a member.
