I think it s important to understand that the resort is eclectic and beautiful. The views are breathtaking and the staff we dealt with checking in and out were friendly, professional and understanding. However, I feel like it is important to help others understand a big downfall of the resort which is paper thin walls/ceiling and a night clerk that is not sympathetic or helpful. We came here for my husbands birthday and ended up leaving after the first night because we could not sleep. I want to be clear that there were no parties keeping us a wake just a simple late check in. That s how non-insulated the rooms are. The people above us were just walking around and sounded like they were coming through the ceiling. A call to front desk would offer no solutions but a response of to be honest I ve never heard this complaint before but I guess I ll give them a call . This response is surprising because a simple search of reviews shows others having this same experience. For me, this was a dealbreaker and warrants 1 star because my expectations of a resort experience is peace and quiet; this is nearly impossible when you can hear the conversations above you. There were issues with the restaurant service as well but not enough to go into detail. I will say that the front desk supervisor did sympathize with the experience when we explained we would be checking out early. She did offer us a complimentary upgrade should we ever want to come back (we respectfully declined). We utilized the restaurant, spa and stayed for one evening which turned into $720 for a restless evening, mediocre food service and unfortunate customer relations.
