I was less than impressed with this Wegmans. For one, it's not very big, thus making it more cramped than most Wegmans. The store's isles are narrow, and it makes the traffic situation inside the store almost as bad as in the parking lot outside, which, as others have duly noted, is a disaster. This store's appeal lies mostly in the immediacy of when you first step inside and notice the baked goods, sushi, and the fresh fruits and veggie stations, which are a bit more exquisite in their offerings compared to other locations. Beyond that there is little to write home about, and it is no different than any of the other Wegmans stores. In fact, I think this Wegmans offers even less than some of the stores that have been around for the last 20+ years. And at least those stores have ample space to maneuver a cart without crashing into people. Furthermore, as another reviewer pointed out, some of the employees here are just downright rude. When I was checking out the organic meats selection, one of the employees from that department cut right in front of me to reorganize the shelves directly in front of where I was standing without even excusing herself. This is a Wegmans designed to appeal to the arrogant yuppies of East Ave, but I found myself largely underwhelmed and have no plans of going back. The hype which the initial opening of this store received is testament to just how dead Rochester is, culturally and otherwise.
