A must see if you're visiting Paris. Allot 4-6 hours for this trip!

Even if you've bought a ticket in advance, you still have to wait in line like everyone else; the only upside is saving 5 to 10 minutes as you don't have to buy a ticket at the office. Personally I think those who've purchased tickets in advance should have a separate line. Expect to wait 30 to 45 minutes in line during peak season.

We only allotted 3 hours and thus saw the tour (it goes in a linear fashion and takes 1.5 hours to complete) and only a fraction of the gardens as we needed to stop and rest.

Bring 500 ml of water per person and an umbrella for the sun if you're going July/August. It can get very hot: 30 degrees Celsius or more.

It's a long wait but worth it to see all the sights.
