Hotel would get a 5 on cleanliness and comfort, unfortunately this hotel failed to provide the single most important thing: a decent nights rest. I've spent well over 100 nights in hotels in my life. I've called the front desk to complain only 3 times. All 3 were last night at the Valdosta GA Holiday Inn. Upon arriving in the room after 14 hours of driving ready to catch some sleep before hitting the road again in the morning, we were hit with the thumping bass from a party happening directly below us. I called the front desk (after connecting the phone line to the phone to get a dial tone) to ask if we could be moved to a room that wasn't directly over the DJ in the conference room. I was told that there were no other rooms. They said the party would be over at 10. While less than ideal, I figured I could handle the noise until then. At 10:30 the party was still loud in my room, so I called the front desk to ask about the noise again. The desk told me the manager was just then on his way to tell them to turn down or disband the party (that was already running 30 minutes over). The party kept going... still at full tilt and still shaking my room at 11:10. I made my third call to the front desk to complain... This time they were REALLY going to shut it down. After about 10 more minutes the thumping finally quit and I could finally start to fall asleep. At midnight, after finally getting to sleep, the rooms alarm went off and woke me up! We spent over $200 for less than 12 hours in this subwoofer. What a truly terrible and unacceptable experience.
