This is the best place I have been to in my NYC trip. It's on the liberty island which is accessible by ferry from battery park. There is a security check just like airport hence please make sure not to carry any food item apart from water bottle. You can purchase ticket before visiting island . There are two types of tickets 1.pedestal view 2 . crown view
You can purchase crown view ticket which provides amazing views of the city through statue's crown. However it involves climbing a lot of stairs inside.
There is a new museum started on the back side of statue. This museum is awesome
