I am a curly girl and was looking for a stylist in the area. I use to go all the way back to Florida to get my hair cut but wanted to go pixie short and knew that wasn't realistic for the upkeep necessary on a pixie. I found a highly recommended Deva stylist at MHSG but when I called to make an appointment discovered she was no longer there. The person on the phone, however, said Michaela was great and recommended her. I thought "why not!" As a new mom, I needed a haircut (because my LO was tearing it out with his new found grip strength) and I didn't want to start my search again.

I came into the salon and Michaela was very professional and friendly. She asked what I wanted. I showed her pictures and we talked. I told her I am very low maintenance when it comes to hair and, in the past, once a year wasn't unusual for my haircuts. She seemed less concerned about maintenance, saying she would cut it so it would grow out well, and more concerned that I'd never been that short before. I told her not to worry about it but she did mention it a few more times.

She did a FANTASTIC Deva cut. I've had a few Deva cuts where I wonder why I'm not just having a straight cut but this was not one of those times. She studied my curls and was very precise with the cut.

When it was all done the back looked AMAZING but, I'm not going to lie, I was a little disappointed with the front. I have this thing about puppy dog ear hair and that's what it looked like to me. Michaela could tell I was disappointed and offered to fix it but I told her not to worry. I didn't have time and I really am low maintenance, it would grow back. I went home but not before purchases a headband on the way out.

I'm so glad I didn't have her "fix" my hair. As the days went on I loved my cut more and more. I was able to wear it down and was still able to play with it in clips and headbands. Additionally, it did grow out BEAUTIFULLY. It's been three months and it looks very different now but still fabulous. It looks so good I've made an appointment to go BACK to Michaela for another cut and color, too. I was initially sad that my hair didn't "look like the picture" but it was more what I needed - she really listened when I said I was low maintenance and gave me a cut that has served me well (and looked good) for months - something that I haven't had before with short hair.

Looking forward to seeing Michaela again and, hopefully, going a little shorter!
