I love this place, and everyone who works there.

I heard about Healthplex through a wedding showcase in Saratoga, and asked them to send me more info on personal trainings so I could get in shape for my wedding. I was totally skeptical going in, because I haven't had good experiences with personal trainers in the past. However, within 5 minutes I was totally sold on Healthplex. I'm really happy with my decision to join.

This is the definition of my perfect gym - and I really don't like gyms. This place is big enough that you can always have the equipment you want to use available. It's never too crowded. The locker rooms are clean and well-kept, and actually smell rather nice, instead of like sweat or stinky feet. The equipment is clean and maintained nicely. They have a lot of equipment and space to work out in, and even a jungle gym thing that looks like it could be part of American Ninja Warrior. To top it off, everyone who works there gets to know your name in just a few days. I'm greeted by name by Amelia every time I walk in. It just makes the place feel very welcoming.

Mike did my initial evaluation. He was extremely easy to work with, and extremely knowledgeable. He was able to notice even the slightest movement on my part, even right down to me balancing my bodyweight on the wrong part of my foot, even if I could swear it wasn't obvious. He pays amazing attention to detail when he's working with a client. Nothings gets past him.

I signed up for one-on-one trainings twice a week with Rob. He is equally fantastic. He is a ton of fun to work with, and is really great about encouraging me and keeping me positive. He is also very good about letting me work at a pace/level that I am comfortable with. He makes sure I'm challenged without over-exerting myself. I am really thrilled to be working with him. He is also giving me the best exercises for me, and I have some health issues that make it hard for me to stay in shape. Since starting my trainings a month ago, I've noticed the difference in my strength and how I feel. That said, it does require work outside of trainings, because twice a week isn't enough exercise for anybody, but I really wouldn't be where I am without the people at Healthplex helping me along.

I have also been to several of their group classes. Even though it's a group environment, I feel like I'm getting almost the same amount of personal attention and instruction as I would in my one-on-one sessions. If you're not one for personal trainings, at least try the classes. They rock.

If you're looking for a gym, go to Healthplex.
