If we take a look at its history we find that the shipyard was established on May 8, 1940 and was called "Romania Shipyard" and is among the first factories in the country. Its activity continues in scale, so that in 1980 it becomes the second shipyard located on the Danube. Types of vessels were built, such as cargo ships and superatlantic ocean fishing vessels, which represented "a premiere for the Romanian shipbuilding industry".

Br ila was called "the granary of the country" in 1911, because ships loaded with cereals arrived and left in our daily port.

Later, the port went into decline, and the Shipyard also went to privatize in 2000 under the name of "Scandior". It remained under this name until 2003 when it was bought by the Norwegians and renamed Aker Yards. Then the first modernization works took place inside the construction site, an advantage for the employees.

Since 2008 it has changed its leadership again, this time being bought by the South Koreans called STX Europe.

Later in 2013 it is owned by an Italian company and the name is Vard.

When it appeared, it manifested itself in the form of small workshops for cleaning and repairing the hulls of ships and boats.

Today, "shipyard facilities allow the simultaneous installation and repair of 12 ships, launching and lifting ships on a hydraulic winch ferry, arming ships at docks with a total length of 1,300 meters, handling bridges and cranes of 15 and 50 tons."
