This hotel is overrated.

This hotel is overrated.
Perhaps it's classified 5* because it's architecturally looked charming?
Comparing to other 5*, it does miss some details: small bathtub, refrigerator not working, garden view=no view (couldn't open the window curtains because my window faced directly to other people balconies), small pool, both garden and front lawn blocked entire week for use of a big group of hundreds noisy oversea tourists. This hotel charged $38plus taxes Resorts Fees per day, but to use the beach I had to pay another $40plus taxes per day for beach chairs.
Of course I had to wait hours to check in because my flight came early, but my room still wasn't ready at the check in time. My bathroom didn't have a shower curtain, I had to call and waste my valuable vacation time to wait for shampoo and shower curtain brought in. Then room key didn't work when I came back later. Front desk staff was sure that I demagnified my keys. They made me go downstairs to get new keys which still didn't work. Then I had to waste more my valuable vacation time to sit around while they changed the batteries on the door lock.
Since this hotel brags 5* and the cost start from $500 and up per night, I expected higher quality than a 2* hotel.
I found that staff attitudes were overall fine even with their little mistakes here and there.
Attitudes from managers level bothered me. When I brought up my concerns, the managers didn't wait for me to finish expressing my frustration, they already responded with their typical bs "ok ok yes yes sorry sorry" and acted like they couldn't wait for me finish talking because their time are more valuable than mine. For $500 a night, hotel managers could at least pretended some sympathy to a tired customer. Talking to the managers made me more angry beyond words. This was the third visit to Waikiki and I slowly grew to hate it. My experience from this hotel surely is the final straw. I'm so done with Waiki
