kui du Review of ALSAC/St. Jude
Hi.St Jude,
Hi.St Jude,
I want to share our family s sad true story here about my nephew ( he is 2.5 years old, and he is living in China.)
. He has Retinoblastoma, and we recently found out. After we found it out, the whole family collapsed. My daughter and I quickly did the research and tried to help them to find a good hospital for the treatment for him. Then we found St Jude and it gave us a lot of optimistic hope. So we started to contact the referral office and tried to get this little guy to come to the United States to get the best treatment. From the qualifications that St Jude shows online : one of the qualifications is : St Jude doesn t not accept any kid who has already had any treatment in your original country or location! But as a overseas child, you will face a visa process, so it takes time , how can we just wait for a about a month for the visa and doing nothing for his fatal disease. We must do something before we get the visa to come to the United States for his treatment. So we got a chance finally to write a letter to a doctor at St Jude. He gave us a heartbreak answer, which Basically, St Jude will not accept this kid for treatment in the United States IF the kid takes any treatment in China. We were so sad and disappointed. And have to choose to go to a hospital here in Guangzhou. the doctor have a the result that his right Eye is D and Left Eye is E. But nothing spread to any part of the body yet, so they did the first treatment to my nephew. ( I don t know how to explain the way they used to treat my nephew: I will try to translate it this way: interventional therapy, maybe I am wrong, but let me try again: the doctor used a way to let the medicine just go to the eye , not the whole body . ) , they told us, at least 4 times so far, the high , high, high, treatment fee has already shocked the whole family. They are a poor family, father is a bus driver, mother doesn t not have a job, they have another child too. they don t know how to deal the rest of the treatment for my nephew. They don t know how the kid s treatment will go on.... when we found St Jude, we were so excited we thought this kid would be treated and saved , this kid would have a hope , his family would have hope. Because St Jude told us we will safe children s eyes not cut the eyes off.
Tell me please, can my nephew still come to St Jude for the treatment since the tumors have not spread out any other parts of his body yet???? Visas to go to the United States for my nephew and his father are still in the process. We don t want to give up, please.
We are hoping that an official person from St Jude will answer the questions and please help this kid , please, please, please!!! He is only 2 .5 years old.......
Ps: I really don t want to give bad review about St Jude . so please help me to understand I give it wrong!
