It's super random living in NYC and taking out hotels in NYC. But as it happens, I like to vacation in the city I reside in (keeps me calm and collected) so through the years I've been randomly choosing hotels and staycationing a couple of nights.

This week I chose the Gansevoort and everything about them earned them 4 (Almost 5) stars. I arrived late in the evening and did have some requests prior to my arrival. Walking in to my suite, everything I had requested was in the room just as I hoped.

The room was cozy yet workable. Floor to ceiling windows overlooking Hudson St. Fully stocked mini bar with delicious food and drinks. I did order room service a couple of times, and was pleasantly happy when they arrived well before the estimated time with delicious, hot fresh food.

My friends came to visit me at some point in the evening so we went up to the FABULOUS large rooftop the Gansevoort is known for. We ordered drinks and food and once again they were just great. I love that they have a very large smoking section on the roof. It is an added bonus but very well worth it for smokers like us. The staff at the rooftop were very pleasant, happy and friendly people.

What really amazed me, at one point I went downstairs to explore Chelsea Market. On my way out I put the sign for cleaning on my door, I only left for a very short time but when I came back up my room was spotless and new. I thought that was very impressive.

The Gansevoort is located in a really cool part of Manhattan at the Meatpacking District. It is the perfect hotel if you're looking for adventure and activity. I definitely recommend it and look forward to staying there again.
