I have to admit I was a little skeptical going to this dealer after reading all the reviews on Yelp, but to the dealership's credit I had one of the best car buying experiences ever here last week.

From the valet guys and the receptionist to the salesperson and the managers, everyone was super professional.

I spoke on the phone with Peter Nawrocki about my interest in a particular vehicle before going to the dealership. When I got there, Peter had already pulled the car out front with keys ready for test drive. I appreciate his style which is very upfront and open but not aggressive. We obviously had different opinions on the pricing, but the negotiations were never at any point confrontational like at other dealerships. Where other salespeople took my lowball offers with offense, Peter skillfully brushed them aside with humor.

We eventually found a price somewhere between me looking for the best value for my money and the dealer's expectations for what people should pay for a quality car. I am thrilled that It was closer to my number than it was to theirs.

The paperwork was tedious but probably not any more so than at any other dealership. There are, after all, a mountain of papers that Lexus/Toyota want people to sign before driving off in a financed car. Yet the experience never seemed to drag because Kasim and Akua were competent and professional.

I also spoke with the owner and though I don't remember his name, he was also a great guy. He is very lucky to have so much great talent working at his dealership.

To potential car buyers: don't sweat the other reviews. Selling cars is hard to do. It's a big investment for most people, MSRPs always look ridiculous, and no matter how great of a deal the dealership agrees to, buyers always drive away thinking they could have gotten it for less.

If you go to Rockville Center, speak with Peter Nawrocki. He is a great people person, even when he disagrees with you. That is the one trait that I have come to value in salespeople because even if we cannot come to terms on price, I can at least go to the next dealer without feeling shamed, bullied, offended, or having wasted my time.
