Im not sure if this is the correct place im reviewing, but if you come across this review it is for Buck Island Tours (from Frederiksted) on the Boardwalk. Possibly Big Beard's? Not sure. Anywho, my husband and I were here on our honeymoon and thoroughly enjoyed this trip.
I have never been snorkeling before (he has) and I 1. Can't swim and 2. Have a severe fear of not being able to breathe (asthma contributes). Somehow I decided I wanted to "conquer " this fear and snorkel *shrug*.
I absolutely panicked the first time I got in the water and put my face in. I had a double body experience. On one hand, I could totally see the ocean floor and saw all the pretty fish, but at the same time I realized ny only method of breathing was "mouth breathing" (totally unreliable as an asthmatic. Smh) so I started heaving and crying and they got me out of there.
I was determined to try again and Grace was particularly amazing. She sat with me on the edge of the boat and talked me through practicing mouth breathing. She also took my snorkel off and suggested I just hold my breath (and breathe out of course). Totally worked! I then went on to have an amazing time and I was the last person to get out of the water and back on the boat!

Buck island itself is beautiful! The sand is sooo soft but be wary there is nothing on the island but sun sand water and an upgraded port a potty. So bring lunch/ snacks and water games if you like!

The crew also gave us rum punch! And had a cooler to store food while on the boat.
