if you love spartan, this airport is for you. but, what ruins the ambience is the bong predilection for smoking. guys, its a misconception that a cig between fingers is evidence of brain between ears.

inside, the airport is a cancer nightmare. two smoking cabins, one near gate 28 and the other near the food court near gate 18, are the cause. i don't understand the need for a public undertaking like AAI to accommodate smokers at the cost of causing cancer among its users... till you remember the bong misconception and the fact that the kolkata hq'd ITC may be too big a customer to disappoint.

passengers boarding from gate 26, 27, 28 are especially subjected to strong second hand smoke. i pity the airline staff who have to keep standing there the whole time inhaling this deadly smoke with no option. while the passengers have the option to stay away till the last moment, while queuing up they are also not spared.

the airport staff also who have to frequent that location as part of their duty are needlessly subject to health hazard.
the food court though is spared from the strong stench, but it is perceptible occasionally.

to all those silently suffering, i have one word - lawsuit.

outside, the smell of tobacco hits you once you exit the airport. but that is why you are here, isn't it?
