I visited Michael Helene Salon Gallery 4 days ago and got the spa pedicure and gel manicure. I went with my daughter and we were hoping to have both our mani pedis done together. Unfortunately, we were told beforehand that there is only one nail technician, Courtney, who works there. This was definitely inconvenient since the services take time and both of us had to wait 1 and a half hours extra. We were also not satisfied with the work that was done. The spa pedicure included much less than expected. There was very little scrubbing(nothing above the ankle was scrubbed and my feet were scrubbed for about 30 seconds), no foot filing, no hot towel compression, and absolutely no hot wax treatment at all. She did do a massage but it was not comparable at all to a spa pedicure that I have gotten at other places. The gel manicure was even worse. There was absolutely no hand massage, lotion application, or exfoliating whatsoever. The cuticle pushing was a lot more painful then I have ever experiences elsewhere. It seemed as though Courtney has no prior experience with gel polish. I had to point out to her that my gel nails were extremely lumpy with visible raised bumps. I don t know why I had to point it out because it was extremely noticeable. The polish was going out onto my skin and cuticles and was very unevenly applied. When I showed her this she did her best to sand down the polish and then reapply more. Although this helped a little I was still left with a very bumpy and honestly unprofessional looking manicure even after she tried several times to fix it. I also paid $7 extra for French tips which are very raised up from the polish and are not even white, they are a light cream color and almost bend in with my pink gel color. After my appointment several of my friends commented that my manicure was really ugly. It has now been 4 days since my appointment and my gel manicure is already chipped off in several places. Courtney was nice and seemed like she was really trying her best but she needs much more training on how to do nails and also needs to be informed of what services are included in a spa pedicure and gel manicure. Overall, she was very nice and friendly to talk to but this is definitely the worst mani pedi I have ever gotten. I would not go to this salon for nail services ever again or recommend it to anyone.
