I have been an employee of SGMC for a little over ...

I have been an employee of SGMC for a little over 5years since my husband and I received military orders to South Georgia. Within those 5years not only have I had the pleasure to work with an incredible team, but I have had multiple experiences as a patient. My family visiting from out of town has had to utilize SGMC ER and Urgent Care. My daughter was born at SGMC (wonderful experience). I have seen the changes that the hospital has gone through over the years and I see the incredible impact SGMC is making in the community.
My reason for posting:
My 1year old daughter needed to be seen recently in the ER, and the care we received was incredible. The triage nurses were quick to assess my baby & treated us with great respect. The NP who cared for us had incredible bedside manner and eased my momma worries and I was able to sleep that night knowing my baby girl would be ok.
This past week I spent 2 1/2hrs in the ER waiting room, in my scrubs, in pain, while the ED waiting room was overflowing with patients. A sweet tech taking vital signs was incredibly kind to every patient she encountered. Triage nurses were prompt and thorough. I was taken back for imaging and was treated with such kindness by the radiology techs. Some would think that because I m an employee- I would be treated better than anyone else- but I wasn t. I had to wait my turn, spend my hours waiting, upset and in pain until a room was available. The ER was BUSY! When I finally got a room I was greeted with such warm hearts! The Nurse Manager or Charge nurse (I forget her title) was reassuring that I would receive excellent care. The PA and Dr. Were amazing! The Nurses were loving, had patience, and were attentive to all of my needs.
I m so proud of SGMC and I know that South Georgia is in good hands! Keep up the Great work ladies and gentlemen! THANK YOU for taking such great care of My Family while we were here!
