Richard Krueger Review of Hideaway Steakhouse

We arrived about 15 minutes prior to our reservation and were seated right then. Our party consisted of my wife and I and our 8 year old son, we have received many a "stink eye" for nice restaurants with our son in tow, but nary a raised eyebrow here, Thanks!
We were attended to quickly and given the run down on the daily specials and our drinks orders were taken and were brought with a delectable sourdough loaf to munch on. Our son, spilled his lemonade and we were attended to quickly. He apologized for his accident to which the waiter genuinely smiled and said,"Thank you, it's not a problem!"
I had the Cowboy Bone-in Rib-eye my wife had the Bone-in Pork Rib Chop, both ordered Medium-Well (no comments from the peanut gallery, that's how we like them!), and Mac n' cheese for the kiddo. Also a bottle of the House Riesling.
We were offered another loaf of the fabulous bread while we waited for our meals, which a happily accepted. The wine was brought in a "chill" holder and was cold, crisp and wonderful.
My wife's plate came and the veggies brought were incorrect and with no comments it was returned to the kitchen and properly plated. My steak had a pat of a herb butter melting on top with asparagus w smoked bacon and roasted finger length potatoes, some were the purple variety, yum! Now there are some places that have no idea how to cook a medium well steak, I.E. Brooks steakhouse, But these people have it perfect, a touch of pink, juicy and delicious! The Pork chop had Au Gratin and a summers quash/zucchini/carrot combo that looked like spaghetti, wonderful!
After the desert order was placed, or son looks at the waiter and says, " Can I see the kitchen?" After the lemonade incident I thought, this will go nowhere, but to my surprise he reached out his had and said, "let's go!" He had a blast!
Desert was as good as anything, double choc cheesecake, choc mousse and a fresh made choc chip cookie (with a glass of mike too!!)
Many of the bad reviews I see are from shortly after they opened so, go there, try it, I think you'll like it.
Was it high priced, yes, but not near as much as Elway's, Capitol Grill or Brooks for what we got to eat.
We will be back!
