I love Big Bend! It has so many amazing views, whether you are low in the canyons or high on the mountain's. Everyone is so friendly and helpful. I locked my keys in the rental vehicle I had and a park Ranger was able to come within 20 minutes all the way up to Chiso basin campground and unlock the car for free.
It really is a great place to camp and hike. The hikes are really adventurous and exciting. My 5 year old loved it, we are definitely coming back again.
Now there was a couple of things I thought were a little weird but it could be nothing. We stayed for the night our tent was a little farther from others. However, around 2am at night me and my son woke up to the sound of someone trying to get in our tent but our tent had 2 zippers so whatever it was only opened the first one after waiting awhile for it to leave and not hearing any footsteps of it leaving we decided to open it and nothing was there. The only thing was the open screen zipper that we feel they opened. We went back to sleep and once again we heard footsteps to our tent but it was only to our tent and paused right in front but never left.Could be a animal but the sound of human footsteps to animals? Big difference. The next night we came back late from the window trail and it was starting to get dark i was taking photos of sunset along the trail and my camera was just constantly glitching. Not sure what all that was but it was weird.
