Liverpool Central Library has re-opened after being closed for some time for a massive renovation. Two extensions from the 60s and 70s have been demolished; the Picton Reading Room and the Hornby Library have been restored; and the central space completely re-figured. The re-figuring has been done in a very modern and attractive way, with a four storey Atrium and a roof top viewing terrace. The whole is extremely attractive and impressive. There is also a small cafe with indoor and outdoor seating and access to all levels via escalators and lifts. It is well worth a visit and should make Liverpool very proud.
