I gave Whirlpool every opportunity to provide adequate customer service, however they do not seem to care about their customers or standing behind their products. In April of last year, I purchased a Whirlpool microwave. In January, it started sparking, and one time, the food actually caught fire. Whirlpool sent out a tech who, after only testing the microwave with water, said it was fine. He would not recommend a replacement when asked. We have used it since, with it sparking every now and then. A week ago, it made a grinding noise, gave off a chemical smell, and then stopped heating entirely. I called Whirlpool customer service and was told the microwave was out of warranty. When I informed them that it's had problems since January (when it was still under warranty), they tried to tell me that my purchase date was April 2017. I tried to reason with them, speaking to several people, sending multiple emails (both CanadaSocial and their corporate email) with proof of the April 2018 purchase date, but all they did was refer me to their customer service line. I am in disbelief that they are refusing to replace a product that should have been replaced when it was under warranty. I am also shocked that they won't stand behind their warranty or product when it completely dies after only 1.5 years. Lastly, I am in utter disbelief that they wouldn't take this opportunity to show some decent customer service and try to regain some customer faith, especially since it would not cost them much at all to replace the item.

I would highly recommend everyone purchase products elsewhere, as the products and customer service provided by whirlpool are disgraceful for a major company.
