This place is a freaking mess. On a Friday night I fell while roller skating and went to an urgent care because I hurt my wrist. The woman at the Urgent Care took one look at my wrist and was pretty sure it was broken. They did an x-ray, and found that I had a subtle buckle fracture on my right distal radius. The Urgent Care told me to see an ortho within the next 24 hours or go to an ER. Since it was Friday night there were no orthos open on the weekend so I went to this Hospital on that Saturday. The hospital had to re x-ray my wrist (I had a disk with pictures from the Urgent Care but they needed to do their own x-ray). I was still wearing the splint that Urgent Care had put on. I asked the X-ray Tech if I should take it off, she said no. Then I waited at least two hours for an ortho to see me. By the time he saw me the ortho, Jonathan, couldn't be bothered. He claimed he did not see a fracture on the X-ray. I told him what my diagnosis was from the Urgent Care. He then said that he thought he could see something by my distal radius but that he thinks the X-ray was obscured by the brace I was wearing. He ordered me to get a new x-ray, but not before putting me in a bigger brace, one that went past my elbow. Why would a doctor send me to an x-ray with a brace when he thought the original x-ray was obscured by a brace? And why did he have to put a cast up past my elbow when the only problem was my wrist and he didn't even think there was a fracture? I think the employees at this Hospital are lazy and incompetent and didn't do these x-rays correctly. To make matters worse I told them from the start that I am uninsured and will be paying out of pocket. Why wouldn't they at least try to do things correctly when they know I'm paying for this myself? Go anywhere else but here. I wasted 5 hours of my life for nothing. I wish I had just waited until Monday and saw a real ortho.
*Update*- I went to an ortho and turns out the wrist is indeed broken as Urgent Care believed. It was pretty clear when the ortho showed me the X-ray. Got my small cast, easiest thing that happened all week.
