The "Hotel Mac" as locals call it, is a must-visit. The south-facing patio and gardens overlooking the North Saskatchewan River are delightful, and one could be excused for imagining oneself in Europe while sipping wine or eating. In the winter, the lounge, with its highback chairs and fireplace is an equally soothing place to cocoon and sip scotch. Bike parking is non-existent, shocking considering other Fairmont properties' commitment to environmental protection, and the proximity to the new (2018) funicular, which is a key access point to the river valley bike trails and the Lower Level Bridge.
