Professional nursing staff, nursing assistants as...

Professional nursing staff, nursing assistants as well as OT/PT were all very nice. Very concerned with pain management (with meds only) about which I am grateful. However I was Extremely disappointed with basic nursing care. Was never offered washcloths and towels with basin of warm water to bath or assist with bathing. Never offered my toothbrush. Never straightened or changed my sheets. Only disposed of my emesis in kidney bowl x2 without asking. Was vomiting every day. Did not change my dressing until I remembered it as I was being wheeled out of the hospital at discharge. NA had to go get an RN. Did not think of non medication alternatives to help with discomfort. In other words, I had to ask for everything.! This also happened 12 years ago with another orthopedic admission. But didn t anticipate I d be returning. I hope my feedback will help improve patient care in the future.
Let me say, I am sympathetic to all the struggles the healthcare profession is experiencing during this pandemic. But hoping it would not impact basic nursing care.
