Canadians not welcome!!

Canadians not welcome!!
My daughter and I wanted to purchase a vehicle from this dealership today so that my daughter could drive it from Washington state to Denver, Colorado where my daughter is attending her third year of university. The dealership "refused" to sell the vehicle to us because we were Canadians and we couldn't own a vehicle in the United States of America! Can you believe that! After I told them that my daughter had a SSN as she received one so she could work on campus, based on that information they said it would be "ok" to sell us a vehicle, but we had to import it into Canada. I then explained again to the salesman that we weren't taking the vehicle into Canada but rather driving it to Denver, Colorado where is would be registered. This seemed to be beyond his comprehension of thinking ability as he told us "no" we had to take it back to Canada and pay import tax. At this point I started to wonder if the manager (the salesman was relieved by this point because everything was way too complicated for him to mentally digest) was able to comprehend our real intent of driving the vehicle to Denver and not Canada, would finally resonate in his brain. After five minutes or so, and speaking slowly to the manager he finally understood that we were taking the car to Denver, CO and not Canada he then proceeded to explain we had to pay Washington state tax. I find it odd that I have to explain the details of state taxes to a manager of a Toyota dealership. At this point, the situation was too far beyond his comprehension and I believe his brain was going to internally combust. A Canadian, buying a vehicle in Washington State to register it in Colorado must surely pay Washington state tax even when the buyer can prove residency for Colorado State. Ladies and Gentleman, save your precious time and money and skip this dealership. They struggle here to understand there state laws and rules and foreign ownership. They were rude and lacked knowledge on industry standards. We ended up purchasing a vehicle at Sims Honda who were accommodating and patient. They understood the laws and rules of Washington state and foreign purchases. FYI, the end result is that my "Canadian" daughter is now driving a vehicle that was purchased in Washington state (from Sims Honda) without paying Washington state taxes. Thank you Sims Honda!
