We paid $582 a night to have a view of a parking lot and the back of another hotel. I asked how much it would be to upgrade to a different room with a view and she told me $1,000 more for the entire stay. After thinking about it for a few hours we decided to upgrade and when i tried, she said it was a $1,000 more per night. I had for sure confirmed with her originally that it was $1,000 total (not per night) because if I had known it was $1,000 additional per night I would have told her no immediately. We ended up ending our stay 5 nights early and staying at the Marriott down the road with an awesome view and $150 less per night. Fairmont has good size rooms but anyone staying in the entire south side needs to be aware, the view is horrible and you will pay full price!
