Yellowstone can be super crowded. The secret to a good visit is to visit the places the crowds are not at. The lower geyser basin away from old faithful is less crowded and it's just as interesting. The mid geyser basin is also less busy. Norris geyser basin is another cool place to go that is often overlooked. Get there early because there is limited parking. If you are willing to hike Abit you can get away from the bus loads of day trippers and it's almost like you have the park to yourself. Good luck!
