The hotel was clean and the staff friendly, but the food at the hotel restaurant was ...... in a word..... GROSS. I booked two rooms for my family of 6 on 7/24/2018 (rooms 310, 318), and decided to eat at the hotel restaurant instead of attempting to find a local restaurant. Speaking for myself, I ordered the Seafood Norfolk ($22), which tasted like the shrimp and scallops were boiled in water, since they were shriveled and tasteless..... the crab tasted like it has been sitting in melted butter for a week. The total bill was $150, and no one in my family ate more than half their dinner, because everyone disliked their meals. The one thing that pissed me off was the waiter..... shortly after bringing our food, he stopped by and asked how our food was...... I told him that my meal was disgusting, and with that.... he left. I thought that he was possibly going to inform a manager that would come address my complaint...... but no..... when I got the bill I noticed that he decided to automatically add a 20% gratuity for himself, saying he did that since we were "a group"....to make sure the disgusting food didn't impact his tip. I guess six people may be considered a group, when the food you're serving is gross, and you still want your tip.
