Let me start by saying I Marriott Platinum and lifetime gold. I have over 400 nights at Marriott properties and I have never had as poor a customer service experience as I had today at the Sheraton Brooklyn New York. Every aspect of my interaction at this hotel can only be described as lazy. It started when I arrived at the valet, the valet made no attempt to acknowledge that we were there. We had to basically go knock on his enclosure. The check in was fine. I got to my room and it was not properly cleaned, there was sugar on the desk and it just didn't look very tidy. For instance the cordless phone was not on its charger so it was dead as I would find out later.

I was tired from a long flight so I thought I would go check out the club lounge and relax and have a snack and get a drink. I went to the club on the 2nd floor and the place was trashed, there was no food out, and the drink coolers were empty except for mountain dew. There was no employee in the club either. I decided to put all that behind me and walked to dinner.

I came back and was going to shower, I turned on the shower and went to hang up my dress shirts while it warmed up. I came back to a flooded bathroom because the shower was not draining. I used my towels to soak up as much as I could and called the front desk. I had to call twice to get someone to come up. They eventually sent up the "engineer" and he used a plunger and got the shower to drain. As soon as the water was draining from the shower he started to leave. He told me to call back down to the front desk and have them bring me new towels.

At this point there as a 1/4 inch of standing water in the bathroom. So I called back down to the front desk and asked that housekeeping come and take care of the water and bring new towels. I waited about 30 minutes and no one ever came. I called back down to the front desk and asked again, I spoke to the same person and she seemed not to remember the first conversation. So I asked again for housekeeping. Finally someone from housekeeping came up with new towels but did not have any cleaning supplies to take care of the water. The person from housekeeping seemed nice but did not speak English so I could not communicate to her that I needed the bathroom taken care. Just to be clear there is still a 1/4 inch of water in the bathroom at this point.

So next I went down to the front desk and asked to speak to the manager. The woman and the man at the front desk informed me that there was no manager on duty and that I would have to wait till the morning. I asked if I could have housekeeping come up and fix it and they said I would have to wait. I then told them to send up some fresh towels and I would mop it up myself, which is what happened.

That is correct, I just had to clean a bathroom @marriott hotel.
