I came here to see Dr. Monica Diaz. Before my appointment, I asked to get a price estimate for a specific procedure since I do not have insurance and wanted to be prepared on how much it would cost. I was told that it would between $300-$400. I went for my appointment and was only charged $205 and was really happy thinking it was less than expected. A week later, I received a bill for $565. I called the receptionist to ask what the bill was for since I had already paid. She informed me that the bill was for the lab tests. What doctors office does not inform you what the cost of the test is BEFORE performing them and why did they NOT tell me that the lab tests are separate from the consultation!? I SHOULD HAVE BEEN TOLD THIS OVER THE PHONE WHEN I CALLED SINCE I INFORMED THEM THAT I DONT HAVE INSURANCE AND WAS PAYING FROM MY MY OWN POCKET!! THIS IS NOT ONLY UNETHICAL BUT SO UNPROFESSIONAL!!! DO NOT GO THERE. IF YOU DO, PLEASE BE SURE TO ASK QUESTIONS. TO MAKE THINGS WORSE, I WAS TOLD THAT I WOULD GET MY RESULTS BETWEEN 5-7 BUSINESS DAYS AND HAD TO CALL MULTIPLE DAYS AND MULTIPLE VOICE MESSAGES BEFORE I FINALLY GOT MY RESULTS OVER E-MAIL. WHICH IS VERY ODD BECAUSE THAT SOUNDS AGAINST HIPPA REGULATIONS.
