Jordan Pond is a source of drinking water for the town and nestled within beautiful mountains. The water is crystal clear. You are allowed to get into water with your kayaks if you want. The trail around the pond, really a small lake, is about 3.5 miles and takes approximately 2 hours at a slow pace and with some stops. The parking to the pond is extremely hard to find. One of the things to do is to park your car at the Hull s Cove visitor center and take the free Island Express to this place. Jordan Pond House, which is a restaurant, is close to the parking and also has its own parking. The Jordan Pond House restaurant is a nice place to relax after the walk around the pond. You can have popovers, a local bread delicacy, with butter and strawberry jam. Great place to be.
