I think the merger with Waterland Hospital is no progress, it is downright bad.
Such as in the case of my dear friends living in Purmerend, both of whom have difficulty walking and whose husband was admitted for amputation of his leg in Hoorn.
The operation is no longer possible in Purmerend.
His wife has difficulty walking, with the oxygen and sugar patient having to go to Hoorn with a wheelchair taxi where it is also impossible to book a taxi ride back and then have to wait more than 2.5 hours for the ride back home.
in the morning at 10 o'clock and back at half past four for an hour visit, not to do.
So every day to Hoorn to visit her husband is impossible.
Then he is told that he is going to Novawhere in Purmerend for rehabilitation so she is happy as a small child because then she can visit every day.
But after about an hour it is crystal clear that he cannot and must not leave.
This is because there is a wound on the foot that he still has and they do not trust it.
You'd think that's fine, but the wound was already there on the day he was admitted and he also reported this to the nurse.
They leave it that way all week and do nothing with it.
And after they first made 2 people very happy, I have two very sad people on the phone an hour later.
There is no thought about the impact this has if you have a wife who has difficulty walking and therefore is unable to come to Hoorn.
And now she can go to her husband once a week at most.
Care of this wound and of the amputated leg is also possible in Purmerend and does not necessarily have to be in Hoorn.
So downright bad is my opinion.
This causes a lot of stress, both for him and for her, so it is not conducive to his recovery.
I understand that he is not allowed to leave with an infected wound.
But saying that he will transfer to Purmerend and then an hour later he will not.
No, that doesn't matter to me, you don't.
That wound was not there for the first time today.
A little thought and compassion is apparently very difficult, which is why my experience is not good.
Now they promise again next Tuesday to transfer him to Novawhere but after the fiasco of today, first see then believe !!
